Founded by Bill Elliott and Tom Baker, Kong is a London based design led animation and illustration studio with a talented team of directors, animators, illustrators and scriptwriters.

Kong started in 2D and now works in a variety of styles, mediums and techniques to deliver clients beautifully crafted animation and illustration across entertainment, branded content, online video, explainers, motion picture and print.

We’re passionate about our craft and our company aim is to engage audiences with compelling content that has heart, purpose and integrity.

We’re highly experienced at producing quality work efficiently and effectively, adapting our workflow and team to fit the project. We achieve this by valuing our artists and their wellbeing. We work as a collective and actively support their development beyond our studio.

Notable work includes spots for animating Einstein in Pep Talk for Smart Energy GB, You Being You for Mencap, IMAX promoting Star Wars and Shazam! theatrical releases, ‘Thomas & Friends’ web series for HIT/Mattel and Sci-Fi Comic Cover set props for Netflix’s Black Mirror.

Scanline VFX is a global visual effects studio with locations in Munich, Stuttgart, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Montreal, Seoul and London. The company is led by President and Senior Visual Effects Supervisor Stephan Trojansky.

Scanline is noted for its creation of natural phenomena such as fire, smoke and water on disaster epics such as San Andreas and Independence Day: Resurgence. Recent projects include Eternals, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and Free Guy for director Shawn Levy. Its work as lead vendor on Godzilla vs. Kong highlights Scanline’s increasing expansion into character and creature work.

Founded in 1989 in Munich, Scanline established itself as an industry leader with the development of its proprietary fluid effects software, Flowline. Scanline was the sole developer of Flowline and in 2008, was the recipient of a Scientific and Technical Achievement Academy Award® for the software.

Scanline was nominated for an Academy Award® for Best Achievement in Visual Effects in 2010 for its work on Clint Eastwood’s Hereafter, for which it was the sole visual effects vendor. The film’s signature sequence was a recreation of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, which TIME Magazine called “the most exciting, expertly assembled flood scene in movie history.” In 2013, Scanline received a BAFTA nomination for its work on Iron Man 3 and in 2015, a second Academy Award® nomination for Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

In 2010, Scanline won its first Visual Effects Society (VES) Award for Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects for Hereafter. Scanline has two Emmy Awards to its credit for its work on Season Four and Season Eight of Game of Thrones as well as an HPA Award for Outstanding Visual Effects and VES Awards for Outstanding Created Environment and Outstanding Visual Effects in a Broadcast Program. In 2021, Scanline received its third Emmy nomination for its work on HBO’s The Nevers.
