Indielab has been commissioned by the ScreenSkills Animation Skills Fund to launch four training courses designed to address skills gaps present among mid-to-senior level producers, directors and leaders in the UK animation industry.
Funded by the ScreenSkills Animation Skills Fund, with contributions from UK animation productions, these courses are set to empower participants with invaluable knowledge and insights to thrive in today’s competitive animation landscape.
Scheduled to commence in May and running through June, each course will run from 09:30am to 1:30pm over four consecutive days, with sessions delivered online to enable animation professionals from across the UK to participate. The courses are:
- Creative Production Management: Master the intricacies of project planning, budgeting, and resource management to ensure smooth production workflows and successful project delivery. This course will run from 21-24 May and is executive produced by Helen Brunsdon and the Senior Trainer is Simon Quinn.
- Creative Producing: Dive deep into the role of a producer, learning strategies for project development, financing, and distribution to bring animation concepts to life on screen. This course will run from 4-7 June and is executive produced by Helen Brunsdon and the Senior Trainer is Tim Searle.
- Creative Direction: Explore the art of storytelling, visual development, and character design to steer animation projects towards creative excellence. This course will run from 18-21 June and is executive produced by Helen Brunsdon and the Senior Trainer is Tim Searle.
- Creative Leadership: Hone leadership skills essential for guiding teams, fostering innovation, and navigating the ever-evolving landscape of the animation industry. This course will run from 25-28 June and is executive produced by Helen Brunsdon and the Senior Trainer is Kate Lander.
